A diamond valued at 8 hundred thousand rupees, exhibited by Indian traders at the EXPO Centre in Johar Town was stolen by unidentified thieves on Sunday evening.
“After receiving information about the Indian diamond that went missing from the Exhibition we reached the spot and examined the scene,” said a senior police officer, adding that footage taken from CCTV cameras could play an integral part in investigation process.
Earlier, a diamond belonging to ND diamonds, one of India’s leading jewellery manufacturers and wholesalers was stolen in the presence of a good number of visitors at the EXPO Centre, where dozens of Indian companies had exhibited jewellery articles including gold ornaments and diamond necklaces.
