Diamond Ore Stolen In Zimbabwe

Four hundred kilograms of diamond ore was reported stolen last week from a truck belonging to Marange Resources, one of four companies mining diamonds in Zimbabwe’s Marange fields, the Voice of America reports.

According to VoA, which quoted the state-run Herald newspaper, the truck broke down in the diamond field. A group of 10 robbers armed with an AK-47 rifle and slingshots reportedly spotted the vehicle, overpowered guards, and escaped with the ore, whose value could be millions of dollars.
