It was just like a heist movie, but four men really did jump out of a van to snatch two bags of silver and diamond jewellery from a man they beat up outside a Brossard mall on Nov. 16.
They fled with $1 million in loot. It was all caught on video by security cameras at the Place Portobello mall, the victim says.
Five weeks later, Sarkis Krikorian, president of Fantastic Jewellery Canada Inc., wants to know what's holding up the investigation by Longueuil police.
Police interviewed him for several hours and took photos of the scrapes and bruises on his hand, leg and head.
"They have it all on video," the 48-year-old Toronto-based jewellery wholesaler said. "But nothing is happening. Why haven't they put out the video?"
Krikorian said he had hundreds of rings and earrings in a sports bag and in a leather Coach bag as he and a female colleague walked from their car about 3 p.m. in the parking lot to make a delivery to a jewellery store in the mall.
