The survey of over 2,000 people revealed that 65 per cent of British women have not received a jewellery gift in the last 12 months, despite 44 per cent believing their beloved would treat them to jewellery within this time. Also, the average British man waits 32 months before gifting his partner jewellery. One in 10 men, admitted they worried a jewellery gift is seen as a sign of wanting a bigger relationship commitment.
Gemma Savage, senior jewellery buyer of the firm that conducted the survey, says: "The research shows British men are extremely cautious about gifting their loved ones with gems. The fear of getting it wrong stops them from getting it right, but their little women find more
romantic than a gift of beautiful jewellery, so I urge men to think again."
