A MAN conned a couple out of a diamond ring worth £15,000 in a transaction at Hockley railway station.
They had sold the ring on an online auction site and travelled to the station on Saturday May 7 to collect the cash in exchange for it.
They then were sent a text from the buyer saying he'd had problems getting cash and would bring a banker’s draft instead.
The ring was handed over in exchange for a banker's draft for £8,500.
The victims attempted to cash the banker’s draft the following Monday but were told it was counterfeit.
