Farmiga, who has starred opposite Leonardo DiCaprio and George Clooney, shopped up a storm at an exclusive Cape Town jeweller's last Sunday, telling the owners she would be wearing the pieces to a film premiere and a shoot this month for Vanity Fair in New York.

She bought a pair of diamond hoop earrings, tear-shaped yellow diamond earrings and a matching yellow diamond platinum ring at Shimansky jewellery store.

The 37-year-old, best known for her roles in The Departed and Up in the Air, co-stars with Ryan Reynolds and Denzel Washington in the action thriller Safe House, filmed at locations around Cape Town over the past four months.
