Kate Middleton Opts For Diamond Jewellery And Tiara

Kate Middleton opted for a diamond tiara on her wedding day, despite rumours that the pretty brunette would opt for flowers woven through her locks.

The 29-year-old, who chose a beautiful gown of ivory and white satin gazar, with hand-cut English lace and French Chantilly lace, which designed by Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen, wore a diamond “halo” tiara was made by Cartier in 1936.

It was purchased by The Duke of York (later King George VI) for his Duchess (later Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother) three weeks before he succeeded his brother as King.
