A pair of prolific burglars who stole thousands of pounds of jewellery from upmarket suburban homes have been jailed for a total of 14 years.
Roger Simmons, 34, from West Sussex pleaded guilty to 19 burglaries and three robberies after targeting homes in Purley and Coulsdon, as well as a string of other locations in London and Surrey.
He was jailed for 10 years, while his 20-year-old accomplice Gary Cleary received a four-year sentence for driving Simmons to all the crime scenes.
Cleary, from Camberwell, was found guilty of conspiracy to burgle at Croydon Crown Court, where both men were sentenced on February 18.
The pair were arrested in March last year after burgling a property near the so-called Millionaires Row in Hampstead.
