Diamond Thieves Caught At Jewellery Show

The police have arrested two diamond thieves at the Singapore International Jewellery Show 2010 being held at Marina Bay Sands.

Officers spotted two men, aged 39 and 42, behaving suspiciously on Thursday afternoon. One was seen talking to an exhibitor, while the other appeared to take something from the booth. Both men then left in a hurry. The officers immediately gave chase and detained the duo. Two diamonds valued at about $10,000 in total were found on one of the men.

The police also arrested a 43-year-old Filipino woman who was seen following visitors at the show. She is believed to have attempted to steal from their bags.
