Trump Launches Jewellery Line

On April 30, businesswoman and supermodel Melania Trump, wife of billionaire real estate mogul Donald Trump, will launch "Melania Timepieces and Fashion Jewelry," live on home shopping network QVC. The line of costume jewelry and watches will be priced between $40 and $300.

It's a departure from the fine jewelry line by stepdaughter Ivanka Trump, which first launched at her swank Madison Avenue store several years ago and is now being sold wholesale to high-end jewelers around the country. But for Melania Trump, whose modeling resume includes work for high-end diamond brand A. Link, the decision to go for fashion jewelry over fine was an easy one. She wanted to give women across the country the chance to buy a few pieces and feel elegant, without spending thousands.

"I just wanted to offer women across the country affordable, luxury jewelry," Trump said in an interview with National Jeweler. "Everybody, we are all aware of the economic climate. These pieces, timepieces and jewelry, are very affordable."
