Style icons and fashion entrepreneurs Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen received a crash course in the jewelry business last year, and now they are officially stepping out on their own.
In 2008, the Olsens partnered with renowned designer Robert Lee Morris to produce a line of jewelry that would complement their contemporary apparel brand Elizabeth and James. Beginning in the fall of 2010, new jewelry from the Olsens will fall simply under the Elizabeth and James brand name rather than the previous Robert Lee Morris for Elizabeth and James designation, a spokesperson for Robert Lee Morris has confirmed.
When Robert Lee Morris for Elizabeth and James debuted two years ago, the licensed collection was primarily made up of brushed silver and antiqued brass designs in signature Robert Lee Morris styles, such as bold sculptural cuffs and hoop earrings, infused with the Olsens' flair via the addition of scarab symbols, and snake and cross motifs.
