The second annual Love Ball was held Tuesday night in London, a De Beers-supported event that attracts major players in the worlds of fashion, art and high society, all in the name of a good cause.
The 2010 Love Ball was a charity gala benefiting the Naked Heart Foundation, which provides playgrounds for underprivileged children living in urban Russia and was founded by Russian actress, model and philanthropist Natalia Vodianova.
The Russian stunner, who attended the auction decked out in a necklace made of 122 carats of pear-cut De Beers diamonds, served as the host for the gala, along with Lucy Yeomans, editor in chief of Harper's Bazaar UK, according to a De Beers press release.
Vodianova also designed the centerpiece of the evening's charity auction, the "Magic Moment" necklace. According to the release, the model recalled the famous love poem by Alexander Pushkin (A Magic moment I remember...) when designing the necklace, while also keeping in mind the work done by the Naked Heart Foundation.
