American Idol Finalists Rock Out In Gold

American Idol fans may have noticed that gold jewelry had quite a spotlight on last week's shows, with the female finalists hitting the stage wearing yellow gold earrings, bracelets and necklaces.

But it seems that the popular reality TV competition won't be the only show giving gold a boost. In an effort to show the metal's versatility and fashionable edge, gold jewelry might soon be seen on a bevy of reality TV shows and network comedies.

American Idol stylist Soyon An worked with Studio PR and the World Gold Council (WGC) to wardrobe the contestants in gold jewelry and make their personal style more distinctive. By utilizing a mix of fashion accessories and fine gold, An dashed any possible thoughts of gold designs as staid.

"It really showed that these young stars can wear gold jewelry and that it is fashionable at any age," Studio PR's Shaye Strager told National Jeweler.
