Singer and actress Mariah Carey wore diamond earrings to match her long black glittery dress, but it was not her outfit that caught people’s attention at the Palm Springs Film Festival’s Gala Dinner where she was being honored as a Breakthrough actress for her performance in Precious by Lee Daniels. Instead it was her slurred drunken acceptance speech that has caught the attention of the public.
The diamond earrings were apparently given to Mariah to wear by Oprah Winfrey, according to a local U.S. news service.
Mariah Carey’s one-of-a-kind engagement ring was created for her by Jacob & Co. The ring, valued at $0.5 million, is crafted from platinum and features a square emerald cut fancy light pink diamond as the center stone surrounded by 58 intense pink diamonds and two half moon diamonds on each side. The center stone alone weighs 10 carats, and the total carat weight of the ring is 17 carats.
