Millionairess Robbed By Man With Machine Gun

The woman, who lives in the Cheshire stockbroker belt, suspects she was targeted because of the expensive jewellery she wore on a shopping trip.

A man followed her home and then confronted both her and the hairdresser she had hired to help her get ready for a dinner party.

Both women were ordered at gunpoint to lie on the floor while their assailant ransacked the house.

The mother-of-two, who has asked to remain anonymous, said: “I was absolutely convinced this man was going to shoot us.

“He turned the TV up really loud – and I thought that was to muffle the noise of him shooting us.

“I had my head down on the floor with my hair covering my face. He came over to me, pulled my hair up to reveal my ears, and pulled my diamond ear-rings out.”

The raider, his features hidden by a black balaclava, struck on Friday afternoon as the victim awaited her husband’s return from work.

He eventually left with an undisclosed quantity of jewellery, apparently taking no interest in the Ferrari and Aston Martin parked in the driveway.

His wealthy victim recalled: “I had the hairdresser coming round to blow-dry my hair. We had had a problem with the gates and I had had someone round fixing them, but they left at the same time as the housekeeper.

“The hairdresser came at 4.15pm. I was sat in the kitchen when all of a sudden this man burst through the back door shouting 'Get on the floor'.

“He was pointing a gun at us which was about 2ft long and looked like a machine gun.

“He made my hairdresser lie on the floor and tied her hands behind her back. Then he shouted 'Where is your safe?'

“I took him upstairs to the dressing room. I led and he was in the middle and my hairdresser was behind him.

“I opened the safe and he just started taking everything out of it. He said to me 'Where is that massive diamond ring you wear all the time?'
