THE “Bling Ring” gang who stole millions in cash and jewellery from Hollywood stars were planning to rob the Beckhams.

David and Victoria were said to be on a list of targets that included Jack Nicholson, Leonardo ­DiCaprio, Jennifer Aniston and Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria.


It is thought the raiders may have been after Victoria’s handbag ­collection, worth an estimated £2million.


David owns at least a dozen high-end watches, including a diamond-encrusted Chopard – a birthday gift from his wife – alone worth more than £20,000.


Even Posh and Becks’ £1million ­security system is unlikely to have thwarted the teen thieves, described by one LA detective as “the best cat ­burglars I’ve ever encountered”.


The Beckhams’ near neighbours Tom and Katie Cruise were also lined up as “future hits”, say police.


The disclosure comes after a series of arrests following burglaries at the homes of Paris Hilton, Orlando Bloom, Lindsay Lohan, The Hills actress ­Audrina Patridge and The O.C. telly star Rachel Bilson. The “Bling Ring” targeted high-profile celebs in a 15-mile area stretching from Beverly Hills to West Hollywood and the Hollywood Hills.


They used tourist “star homes” maps and the stars’ own Twitter updates to know where and when to strike.
