Albuquerque police are looking for a man who might have seen activity about a supposed theft of $1.5 million in diamonds in a drug store parking lot.
Police said an out-of-town diamond broker and his wife had just checked out of their hotel. The couple stopped at the Walgreen's drug store at Menaul and Carlisle Boulevards in what proved to be a very expensive detour.
"Their whole life is in complete despair because they have $1.5 million worth of diamonds that are missing," said Albuquerque police spokeswoman Nadine Hamby.
Police said the jewels were in a briefcase on the back seat of a rental car. The broker told them someone smashed a window and grabbed the goods.
