One woman’s bathroom stop, some prayer and work by jewelers in Vernon and Red Deer all played a role in helping a Vernon woman retrieve her dream engagement ring.
The woman (who, along with her groom-to-be, did not wish to be identified for this story) was accompanying her fiancé to Alberta in June, where he was heading for a work assignment.
This trip came just a couple of weeks after he took a rare day off work, took his partner out on his boat and proposed to her on the beach at Fintry, and she happily accepted.
In Alberta, the pair stopped for gas in Rocky Mountain House, where the bride-to-be went into the washroom to wet down her hair and freshen up a bit while he filled up the vehicle.
The gas bill was paid, and off they went, continuing their trip.
