Thief Steals £5.7m Of Jewels

Dazzling jewellery worth millions of pounds has been stolen at gunpoint from a French outlet.

A man made away from the Paris store with items to the value of 6.6 million euros (£5.7 million), lovers of platinum diamond rings and diamond necklaces may be interested to hear.

The thief, who has been described as elegant due to his appearance, waved a handgun at the Chopard shop, before being handed 15 dazzling pieces.

Olivier Lebon, a police union representative, revealed: "According to the first set of information we received, it was a man in his fifties, dressed in a chic costume and wearing a Borsalino (fedora) hat."

Lovers of gold diamond rings may remember that last month US star Rachel Bilson had items of jewellery and clothing stolen when thieves broke into her Los Angeles home.

Pieces given to the OC actress by her grandmother were among the items taken, as well as a television and a Chanel fashion collection.
