Lovers of gold and platinum diamond rings will be digging out their maps after it emerged that a man is giving away an engagement band in a treasure hunt.
Anthony Gardiner, of New Zealand, bought the item for his perfect partner, but his advances were turned down.
Now, the 29-year-old is set to post clues online which will lead someone to the white gold diamond ring, which includes five of the precious gemstones and is worth NZ $5,000 (£1,958).
The unlucky-in-love romeo told the Dominion Post: "I met this girl I thought was pretty cool, bought a ring... turns out she wasn't as keen. Obviously, it's been a pretty unlucky ring for me."
One person who has gladly accepted a gold diamond ring is Shilpa Shetty.
