A designer of pieces such as platinum diamond rings and diamond necklaces has revealed that he has "gone back to his roots".
Paul Spurgeon told Cambridge-news.co.uk that he is now all about the expression of creating jewellery, rather than making money.
He commented that he favours a simple approach when it comes to designing stunning pieces.
Mr Spurgeon told the source: "I believe less is more. I don't do cluttered, I don't do busy, life is too cluttered as it is."
He added that designing jewellery has "opened up doors" for him, during a career which has involved coming up with dazzling items for stars such as Sir Elton John.
The expert went on to say that he is now working in South Africa where he is looking to put a European feel to jewellery produced in the region.
In other designer news, an array of new collections and pieces are set to be present at the Coutts London Jewellery Week, which is now underway and runs until June 14th.
