A US woman has been arrested for stealing thousands of pounds worth of diamond jewellery.
Lisa Payne has been charged with three offences and is accused of taking items to the value of more than $100,000 (£66,000) from the family who had employed her as a cleaner.
Ms Payne is accused of stealing the jewellery and then selling it at pawn shops, lovers of gold diamond rings and diamond drop earrings may be concerned to hear.
However, the police were able to catch up with her due to the information she had to leave when selling the pieces.
Jason Merritt, a pawn shop owner, tells mysuncoast.com, that stores such as his require those looking to offload goods to give their fingerprints and data such as their address and social security number.
He adds that this has allowed outlets to track those selling stolen goods, such as platinum diamond rings.
In related news, a woman in Slough returned from her husband's funeral to find that gold rings, earrings and bracelets had been stolen while she was away.
