A spate of burglaries in the Portsmouth area has seen a number of gold diamond rings stolen from homes.
Residents in the region were subjected to 13 burglaries or attempted burglaries from May 7th to 10th, reports the Portsmouth News.
One incident saw two diamond rings stolen from a home in Fratton on Sunday night.
A ring with a row of diamonds and another with a small diamond in the centre were taken.
Another incident saw four rings taken from a house in Drayton when the burglar entered the back door of the house, taking a purse and credit cards as well, the newspaper reports.
Police are appealing for information on all 13 cases, with anyone who saw anything being invited to come forward with the details.
These incidents seem small in comparison with the theft of a 6.6 carat diamond ring in the US, which is worth around £52,000.
