Lovers of items such as diamond necklaces and diamond drop earrings have the chance to bag themselves a premier piece of jewellery next week a gemstone-encrusted brooch once owned by the Queen Mother.
The item will go under the hammer in a Derbyshire sale on Wednesday May 13th.
A spokesperson for auctioneer Bamfords told the Press Association: "Objects with royal provenance rarely come onto the market, and this Victorian diamond brooch is expected to draw international interest."
The item features a two colour gold style and is expected to fetch between £400 and £600.
A healthy crowd is predicted to be in attendance to see the piece sold, with a TV crew and larger-than-life expert David Dickinson among those that will be watching.
On Sunday (May 10th) a collection of diamond lots are set to be sold at Liverpool's John Lennon Airport Crowne Plaza Hotel, with loose stones, bracelets and rings among the goods, reports the Liverpool Echo.
