A major event for lovers of items such as diamond bracelets and diamond necklaces has got underway in China.
The nation is hosting the 2009 Shanghai International Diamond and Jewelry fair, which attracts visitors and traders from around the world.
With the economic downturn seemingly pushed well and truly out of mind, the Shanghai New International Expo Centre is welcoming hundreds of exhibitors, with experts predicting a bright future for the industry.
Running until tomorrow (May 16th), and organised by the Gems and Jewelry Trade Association of China, 15 countries are represented at the gathering.
Delegates will present visitors with a wealth of designs and pieces, many of which will include precious metals and stones to make items such as gold diamond rings and platinum diamond drop earrings.
In other industry news, earlier this week the Platinum Guild International's Platinum First scheme was described as "incredible and very user-friendly" by one of the firms which has implemented the sales initiative.
