Rio Tinto Diamonds has launched a competition which aims to find the best designs of items such as diamond necklaces and diamond pendants.
The firm is seeking creations which demonstrate the full beauty of champagne gemstones.
It says that it wants this to be achieved through the use of colourful and innovative designs, with the competition open until July 1st.
Rebecca Foerster, manager of the US representative office for Rio Tinto's Diamonds sales and marketing, comments: "The timing is perfect for a design contest because it provides inspiration and new ideas to invigorate our industry."
Four winners will be chosen in the competition, with these going on to form part of a US jewellery exhibition.
A panel of judges will view each design before making their decision on the best entrants on July 14th.
In other industry news, all eyes will be on London between June 8th and 14th as its Jewellery Week takes place.
