£52,000 Diamond Ring Stolen

A sparkling diamond ring worth $80,000 (£52,000) has been stolen from a jewelers.

Police in the US are searching for a man after the 6.6-carat jewel-encrusted band was taken last week.

The piece has three stones, including a large yellow diamond centerpiece and two smaller gemstones on either side which face outwards, creating a triangular look, lovers of gold diamond rings may be concerned to hear.

A man entered the store and asked to browse the gemstone-encrusted bands, before taking the item when the clerk handed it to him.

The thief was videotaped committing the crime by the outlet's CCTV cameras.

In related news, earlier this month a US woman was arrested in relation to the theft of jewellery worth $100,000, lovers of platinum diamond rings and diamond necklaces may remember.

Lisa Payne was charged with stealing pieces from a family for which she worked as a cleaner and then selling them at pawn shops.
