Wija Calls On Diamond Jewellery Designers

The Women's Jewelry Association (Wija) is calling on designers to submit their entries for a major award.

Artists behind items such as gold diamond rings and diamond pendants are being encouraged to put forward their work for the Diva Gives Back competition.

Yancy Weinrich, president of the body, commented that the entries will help support the Diamond Empowerment Fund (DEF), which is a non-profit organisation which pays for schemes for people in African nations.

This year's competition is split into the categories Canadian Diamond Diva, Red Carpet Diva and Diva Gives Back to DEF.

Designs for jewels across a variety of styles and prices bands are encompassed in these divisions.

Entries for the competition must be received by May 4th.

In other industry news, a sale of diamond grading equipment will take place in the World Diamond Tower between April 21st and 23rd.

Technology used in gem laboratories is among the lots set to be offloaded.
