A woman has had the smile put back on her face after finding her engagement ring.
Danielle Nelson lost the gold jewel-encrusted band while shopping in the Litherland area of Merseyside, reports the Crosby Herald.
The item, which had been given to her by her fiance and childhood sweetheart Anthony McGrath was not seen for six weeks until Ms Nelson received a phone call from the police informing her that it had been found, lovers of gold diamond rings may be pleased to hear.
She told the newspaper the she "just couldn't believe" that the band, which is a gold ring with a large diamond centre-stone, had been discovered.
Ms Nelson added: "I asked for the woman's phone number, but she told officers that she couldn't possibly take any type of reward, and she was just glad that the ring's back with its owner."
