With the wedding season approaching, many brides-to-be will want to get the look of their favourite stars by opting for platinum or gold diamond rings.

A host of high-profile names have said their vows in recent months, with glittering jewellery a common theme.

However, while these A-listers may have money to burn, expert Michael O'Connor reveals that these looks can be achieved on a more manageable budget.

Black Eyed Peas songstress Fergie walked down the aisle wearing a diamond-covered Tacroi band worth around $40,000 (£27,000).

Mr O'Connor reveals that similar Tacroi items can be purchased from retailers for around $1,590, lovers of gold diamond rings may be interested to hear.

Supermodel Gisele Bundchen tied the knot wearing a $6,000 sparkling, solid platinum ring with a high-polish finish, however, Mr O'Connor states that bands with this appearance can be found for a third of this price.

Earlier this month, former tennis star Anna Kournikova sparked rumours she is set to marry Enrique Iglesias after she was spotted in a diamond ring.ADNFCR-1633-ID-19127113-ADNFCR
