Lovers of gold diamond rings and diamond necklaces may be able to pick up a bargain next month.
Sutton Kersch auction house is putting on a sale which will see glittering gemstones go under the hammer at Liverpool's Crowne Plaza Hotel.
Items such as diamond necklaces and loose jewels will be sold, with guide prices starting well below their actual worth.
James Kersch, director of auctions at the firm, told the Liverpool Echo that there is "something for everyone" among the 106 lots offered.
He added: "In the current economic climate people are searching for deals and that is exactly what we are offering; genuine, quality goods at more affordable prices."
Mr Kersch went on to tell the newspaper that the company, which specialises in house auctions, is able to move into the diamond sector as many of the skills needed "are transferable".
In other news, earlier this month a Saffronart sale saw sparkling pieces sell for Rs 1.48 crore (£143,000), reported the Economic Times.
