A US man is showing his love for glittering jewellery by offering thousands of dollars for the return of a diamond ring, according to a source.
Robert Gismondi made the plea after dropping the sparkling band from Daytona beach pier, reported WKMG-TV Orlando.
To make matters worse, a recent appraisal revealed that the item is worth around $370,000 (£250,000), lovers of gold diamond rings may be interested to hear.
He told the news provider that the band fell off after he reached into his pocket and pulled out his mobile phone.
Mr Gismondi added: "I was devastated. We ran back and got the guy that worked at the pier and we told him what happened."
Earlier this month, a US man's proposal plan was undone when he dropped a gemstone-covered engagement band from the Brooklyn Bridge, lovers of platinum diamond rings may remember.
The romeo was able to retrieve the item - after climbing from the landmark's pedestrian area onto the road below.
