Can The Wrong Engagement Ring Be Fixed?

Can the wrong engagement ring be fixed?

Published on 09/04/09

It is the moment a girl dreams of all her life, but what do ladies do when the engagement ring is not right or does not fit?

Simple issues of ill-fittings can be easily solved claims Rebecca Dolgin, executive editor of TheKnot.com, who tells CTW Features anything can be adjusted up or down by two sizes, which is a "pretty big range".

However, taste presents a different issue, with experts advising ladies do not say they do not like it straight away.

Ms Dolgin says the initial moment is not the time to express disgust at the diamond jewellery, saying the proposal should be the focus.

A day or two down the line is the ideal time to make your feelings known, but equally leaving it too late can present problems.

The expert suggests picking one aspect of the ring that you do not like and explaining tactfully why, which will hopefully secure an exchange.

People looking for their diamond engagement ring may want to opt for a vintage one, as Kristie Lau, writing for the Sydney Morning Herald, says these are becoming increasingly popular.ADNFCR-1633-ID-19116555-ADNFCR
