A US woman has swallowed a gold diamond ring after falling to notice that her loved one had slipped the item into her drink.
Kaitlin Whipple gulped a milkshake, but did not realise that boyfriend Reed Harris had put an engagement band into it while she was not looking.
A group of friends had a video camera ready to catch the lucky ladys face when she realised what had happened, but after challenging her to a race to down the drink she knocked it back, including the gemstone-covered item.
The potential bride-to-be did not believe the story until she was taken to hospital and saw the item on an x-ray, lovers of gold diamond rings may be interested to hear.
After a wait of a few days for nature to take its course, Ms Whipple received the engagement band and accepted the proposal.
Last month, firefighters found a jewel-encrusted ring which had been lost in the snow, reported WCPO-TV.
