Jewellery Event Opens

A major jewellery event has enjoyed strong interest since opening earlier this week, it has been revealed.

The Hong Kong International Jewellery Show this year boasts around 2,300 exhibitors from more than 40 countries.

Lovers of items such as gold diamond rings and diamond necklaces have until March 8th to visit the showcase, which features bodies such as the Antwerp World Diamond Centre and the Platinum Guild International.

The show runs at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre and also includes an award ceremony which will honour top designers in the sector.

Organisers have also announced plans to expand the event next year, thanks to strong levels of demand in the 2009 fair.

In other industry news, the JCK Luxury and Premiere show will be held in Las Vegas between May 27th and 29th.

The exhibition will run for one day less than previously reported due to the economic downturn.
