Divorced women may be interested in buying gold diamond rings to replace their wedding band, according to a source.
Amy Nathan, writing for examiner.com, commented that many people do this as a way of remembering the good times.
She said: "I purchased a ring when I divorced almost six years ago. It served as a reminder that beautiful times and wonderful things were out there and well within my reach."
Writing in her role as Chicago single mom examiner, Ms Nathan added she did this as a way of "moving forward" rather than as a means of literally replacing her old gold diamond rings.
She concluded by saying women should "not let a good ring finger go to waste", stating such an item can signify achievements, memories or future possibilities.
In other news which may interest those considering buying glittering pieces, last week the Jewelers of America commented that it expects better market conditions for the industry in 2009 as the economy recovers.
