The jewellery industry is set to be discussed by a major body at an upcoming event, it has been revealed.
Martin Rapaport will represent the Rapaport group at the New Realities in the Diamond Industry talk on March 30th.
The show will focus on how the economic downturn is affecting retailers and consumers interested in the sector.
Mr Rapaport said that the credit crunch is leading to a "new reality" for the market, lovers of items such as gold diamond rings and diamond drop earrings.
He added: "Those who think strategically and are not afraid to see the future from different perspectives will enjoy unprecedented opportunity and prosperity in the years ahead."
Mr Rapaport went on to comment that fair trade jewellery could be a key factor in the sector's future, as it allows companies to "make a real difference".
In other industry news, the Reed exhibition and JCK India trade shows have been cancelled, with organisers citing the economic downturn as the reason behind the decisions.
