Brides-to-be are opting for vintage platinum and gold diamond rings, according to a source.
Kristie Lau, writing for the Sydney Morning Herald, comments that many couples are looking to the past when it comes to the finer details of their big day.
Rose Kelly, an Australian weather presenter, tells the news provider that she went to great lengths to acquire the perfect wedding band for her ceremony.
She says: "I wanted a vintage-style ring, just like something you'd see in the movies, because it's something that will never go out of fashion."
Ms Kelly goes on to say that this involved flying to South Africa where a gem was sourced and then turned into a glittering band.
The writer comments that retro jewellery is one of the latest wedding trends.
She says that current-day stars are among those embracing a 1950s vintage style, with Penelope Cruz and Evan Rachel Wood some of those to do so.
In other news which may interest lovers of gold diamond rings, Natasha Bedingfield recently tied the knot while wearing a jewel-encrusted necklace, bracelet and ring set.
