It was not just the Oscars ceremony that the stars wore their gold diamond rings and diamond drop earrings to, they kept them on for a series of after-show gatherings.

The great and the good of the movie industry flocked to the lavish Kodak Theatre event on Sunday (February 22nd), with many attending equally extravagant parties afterwards

Reese Witherspoon wowed fellow visitors to the Vanity Fair after-show event by wearing jewel-encrusted items, while Carrie Underwood and Gwen Stefani did likewise.

Madonna was photographed in Neil Lane diamond earrings and black beads, with her outfit totalling 500-carats and worth around $1 million (£700,000).

The Queen of pop also wore a gemstone-covered ring and diamond bracelets to complement her look.

Diamonds dazzled at the Oscars ceremony on Sunday, as Penelope Cruz celebrated winning the best supporting actress prize while wearing diamond bracelets, earrings and necklaces.

The likes of Kate Winslet and Angelina Jolie also opted for sparkling pieces when attending the show.
