Radio Station Gives Away Diamond Ring

A couple celebrated Valentine's Day in style as they scooped a jewel-encrusted band worth £9,000 in a radio competition.

Kelly Harvey and Alex Mercer were awarded the item after the romantic romeo proposed to his partner live on air during Jamie Theakston's Heart FM show on Friday (February 13th).

Mr Mercer popped the questioned and, much to the relief of all involved, his girlfriend of 12 years said yes, owners of gold diamond rings may be interested to hear.

She was then transported to the radio station where it was revealed to her that the couple had won the sparkling diamond and sapphire band.

Presenter Mr Theakston commented: "Bearing in mind the dangers inherent in proposing on the radio, I thought it went remarkably well. Alex was very nervous, so no-one was more relieved than me when Kelly said yes."
