Jewellery Event Revealed

Retailers and lovers of items such as diamond bracelets and platinum diamond rings will be interested to hear the dates of a major industry event have been announced.

The World Jewelry Confederation will hold its 2009 congress between May 3rd and 5th in Turkey.

Istanbul's Ciragan Palace Kempinski will host the occasion in conjunction with the Turkey Jewelry Association.

Dr Geatano Cavalieri, president of the World Jewelry Confederation, commented that the economic downturn will be a key point of discussion throughout the three-day event.

He stated the current climate is "undoubtedly the most severe crisis to hit the world economy" in the last 80 years.

Dr Cavalieri added: "The fact that Turkey is hosting the event is very significant. Like no other market, the country represents a blend of East and West."

In other news for lovers of gold diamond rings, the Bulgari exhibition has opened in Rome's Palazzo delle Esposizioni venue.
