A bride-to-be was saved from her worst nightmare as firefighters found her engagement band, according to a source.
DeeDee Wadell lost her treasured possession while on a walk with friends in snowy Cincinatti, reports WCPO-TV.
After a Christmas proposal the band had not yet been fitted and slipped off Ms Waddell's finger and into a pile of ice and snow, owners of platinum diamond rings may nbe concerned to learn.
Fiance Ben Bloemer told the news provider about the conditions the couple were faced with.
He said: "It all started to clump together and then the freezing because all the snow was turning into big clumps so the ring could have been anywhere in there."
Just as it seemed all was lost, firefighters came to the rescue and retrieved the item thanks to the use of specialist apparatus to sift their way through the eight inches of snow and ice, lovers of gold diamond rings may be interested to hear.
