Gold diamond rings were among the big sellers at a recent auction, it has been revealed.
Furniture, stunning artwork and pottery were all part of the New Orleans sale, but it was the gemstone-covered jewels which shone the brightest.
A platinum diamond Art Deco ring proved to be the star of the show, with its 4.25-carat centre stone and dazzling row of smaller gems helping it achieve a price of $42,000 (£29,600) when it went under the hammer.
The New Orleans Auction, which took place on February 7th and 8th, saw an 18-carat gold diamond band which also featured emeralds find a new owner, fetching $33,600 in the process.
Meanwhile, an 18-carat diamond and sapphire ring sold for $6,000 at the lavish sale.
Earlier this month, a Sotheby's auction of jewel-encrusted watches was announced in the Middle East, marking the first time the renowned company has put on such an event in this region, lovers of platinum diamond rings may be interested to hear.
