The purchase of a diamond necklace transformed the lives of a group of women, a source has revealed.
A syndicate chipped in to buy the £26,000 item five years ago, and now one member has told the Daily Mirror how the glittering piece has helped not only her style, but also her personal and love life.
Despite initial doubts due to the hefty price tag, 12 willing women parted with their cash and drew up a timeshare plan, lovers of diamond necklaces may be interested to hear.
While for many this would involve a raft of rules and regulations, Dale Muegenburg had only one guideline, each woman must make love wearing only the sparkling gemstones when it was their turn to do so, the newspaper reports.
Ms Muegenburg tells the source the jewel-encrusted necklace played a part in her losing weight and enjoying a healthy love life, after vowing to slim down so she could look her best while wearing the item.
A more conventional way of buying diamond necklaces is at auction, with Sotheby's recent Important Jewels sale seeing 60 per cent of the pieces up for grabs find new homes.
