A major diamond organisation is reaping the dividends of putting high-tech equipment in place, it has been claimed.
Gemological Science International (GSI) implemented a consumer-focused website, which is the most advanced online presence in the sector, according to Debbie Azar, chief executive of the body.
She commented by putting this equipment in place, the group has attracted business from all qauarters, those interested in diamond necklaces may be interested to hear.
Ms Azard added: "As our reputation among the trade and consumers has grown, that technology strategy paid off in significant traffic increase to GSI's website in 2008."
She went on to say the online resource allows retailers access to digital reports which allow orders of items such as platinum diamond rings to be tracked.
Elsewhere, the Gemological Institute of America is offering an eLearning programme for retailers and consumers who are interested in finding out more about the jewellery industry.
