A host of world-famous gemstones are being exhibited in a major gallery, it has been revealed.
The Natural History Museum is showcasing numerous jewels until February 1st, with the Kazanjian Red taking centre stage.
As the first time the piece, which was discovered in South Africa in 1927 when it was mistaken for a ruby, has been displayed in the US it is sure to whip up a storm with visitors and lovers of items such as gold diamond rings and diamond drop earrings.
The stone was lost during World War II, but was later found by soldiers before being purchased by a collector in 1970.
Also on show at the museum is the Hollywood Jewels exhibition which is giving the public the opportunity to view numerous gemstone-covered pieces which have been worn by A-listers over the years, with a brooch once owned by Faye Dunaway and a diamond necklace given to Terry Moore by Cary Grant among the items displayed.
