Williams Wows Audience With Diamond Necklace

Serena Williams wowed audiences with her diamond necklaces at a recent event.

The tennis superstar may have struggled to overcome Samantha Stosur in her first round match, but she was on top form when it came to accessories.

Ms Williams, who is currently ranked second in the world, wore a jewel-encrusted necklace while talking to reporters in Australia.

The piece featured 427 diamonds and is worth more than $3.5 million (£2.3 million).

Agence France-Press quoted the 27-year-old as saying: "I told the jeweller that I would wear it at the press conference because I didn't have the cash to be losing a $3.5 million necklace."

She added to the news provider that if she were to wear such jewellery on the court she would find herself focusing on the sparkling accessories, rather than her game.

At the 2005 US Open tournament, Ms Williams wore diamond drop earrings during a match.
