A plumber tackled an unusual sewer problem as he rescued a woman's gold diamond ring from a toilet.
The band, which is worth around $70,000 (£51,700), ended up literally down the pan after its owner visited the restroom in a US restaurant.
After the item slipped from the woman's finger, workers were called in to search the toilet and local sewer lines in search of the piece.
Cheryl Jones, of the Black Bear Diner in Phoenix, described the scene as a team of plumbers used a fibre optic cable to try to locate the band, owners of gold diamond rings may be interested to hear.
She said: "Eight, nine, ten hours later, they managed to dig a hole in my floor and get it out of the pipe."
Ms Jones added the piece included a "huge solitaire diamond", along with several smaller gems.
In other news regarding missing gold diamond rings, last month a woman was reunited with her sparkling band after losing it during a museum event.
