Platinum diamond rings are the latest must-have item for women all over the world, it is claimed.

According to retail expert Raisa Raima, writing for Best Syndication, these pieces are forming the newest trend with the jewel "imbibed" in the metal.

The author also advises those looking for platinum or gold diamond rings that the number of carats of a gemstone is a key consideration to take into account before buying.

She adds items such as diamond drop earrings can also be purchased alongside a band in order to "multiply one's status".

The writer goes on to say: "It [buying diamond jewellery] is practically a lifetime achievement for a woman, so one should be very particular and choosy in buying it."
