A US resident saw in the New Year in an unhappy state after several pieces of her jewellery were stolen.
Kelly Clines held a house party to see in 2009, however it ended in misery when she realised her wedding band was among the items taken, reports the Buffalo News.
Several other pieces, including those encrusted with diamonds and rubies, were swiped from the Lockport home, it may interest owners of gold diamond rings to hear.
Ms Clines was unaware of the theft until a friend informed her that she had found her husband's wedding ring, the source adds.
Elsewhere, it was a similar story in Port Liberte, as a 66-year-old woman woke up after a New Year's bash to the realisation that jewels worth $70,000 (£48,000) had been taken from her purse, according to the Jersey City News.
Gold diamond rings and jewel-encrusted earrings were among the pieces taken at the family party, with the victim reporting the incident to the police on Saturday (January 3rd), the news provider adds.
